Colbert’s Viral Trump Drawing Goes Way Too Far. Hope The Presidential Candidate Isn’t Watching.

After Sunday morning’s horrific mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, there has been an outpouring of love and solidarity from people across the world. But one man has used the tragedy to divide people even further: Donald Trump. First, he sent out a self-congratulatory tweet patting himself on the back for “being right on radical Islamic terrorism.” Then, he made a bellicose speech calling for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. But no one should be shocked, his reaction was just another chapter in his long campaign of narcissism, xenophobia, and flat-out lies. Colbert then moved on to discuss Trump’s speech where he blamed the U.S. immigration system for an attack perpetrated by a natural-born U.S. citizen. “This whole speech, with its nativism, its fear-mongering, and especially its self-aggrandizing in the face of tragedy feels like a new low,” Colbert said. “It makes me long for the days when Trump was just bragging about the size of his penis.” To further explain, he brought out his blackboard to demonstrate how Trump thinks, and his conclusions were right on the nose.
